I don’t think I’ve ever related to any set of words as much.
(via tangerine-skies)
I’ve lectured on this subject a number of times, and invariably the audience groans when they find out that vegetables, fruits, yogurt, eggs and the living cells in raw meat are all “screaming” when they are cooked and/or eaten. Even hard-core vegan/vegetarian/raw foodists who consider themselves to be on a “cruelty-free” diet are now faced with the fact that the food they eat must go through measurable distress—at least from a human’s perspective. Even if you do not cook your vegetables, your digestive activity still has a “burning” effect. [Dr. Cleve] Backster did tell me that if you “pray” over your food, by sending positive, loving thoughts, it then seems to accept its role in helping you stay alive—and these severe reactions no longer occur. Many cultures and spiritual traditions encourage us to “thank our food.” With Backster’s research we now see that this seemingly unimportant behaviour—from a scientific standpoint—has a definite purpose.
Once you realize as a person that you do not exist on this planet to be aesthetically pleasing to other people you will be a lot happier overall with yourself.
so true
While I have yet to figure out if this was an attempt to flirt with me or to offend me, this is part of a conversation I had at my dentist’s office today.
Me: Yeah, I study literature.
Man: You study literature and you wear fancy scarves? Hah, you…
I HATE TOMS. not to mention they are made in china. its like come on.
what are you gonna do? are you going to enter the corporate world sitting in a cubical all day answering phone call after phone call? “sorry the man is out in a meeting, I’ll take a message.” just because the pay is high? just so you can afford that brand new sports car to show off to your coworkers in the parking lot? and buy expensive clothes that have tags with famous brand name labels? or are you going to follow your heart and soul, write books, make art, run a shop with an affordable price range with handmade clothes and jewelry, travel your country, travel the world, maybe take your travels outside of this planet, be a therapist for a reasonable price so all that need that extra lift can achieve that, find your soulmate, have a family, feed your family with non processed foods homemade, forget the local fine dining restaurants, walk down the street instead of drive, talk, listen, laugh, dance, love, be, work with animals, help others, make them happy, your job here on earth is to be happy, and let your inspiration flow, not your money.
